The Sandy Springs Lantern Parade

All About It: Each November, the streets of Sandy Springs come alive with the magical glow of over 1,500 handmade lanterns carried by local school children and community members. This one-of-a-kind illuminated parade was inspired by the lantern festivals of Hoi An, Vietnam. Participants spend weeks crafting intricate lanterns representing animals, characters from popular stories, cultural symbols, and more. As the sun sets, the flickering lanterns wind through the streets, creating a spectacular sight. This charming event brings out the kid in all of us!
Getting There: The parade route begins at City Springs and travels along various streets such as Johnson Ferry Road and Mt. Vernon Highway before circling back. Book a charter bus with us and we’ll drop your group off right at the start of the route!
